Influencer Network

The Influencer Network Program by the JK Centre for Peace and Justice Foundation (JKCPJ) is a strategic initiative aimed at leveraging digital platforms and youth-driven media to highlight critical social, environmental, and economic issues in Jammu & Kashmir. The programme brings together young content creators, students, and digital storytellers to produce impactful narratives that raise awareness, influence public discourse, and inspire community-driven solutions.

At the core of the programme is the use of storytelling and documentary filmmaking to shed light on pressing regional challenges. One of the key projects includes a documentary on the declining saffron production in Pampore, which explores the environmental, economic, and policy-related factors affecting one of Kashmir’s most important traditional industries.

The programme has also focused on environmental concerns surrounding Dal Lake, using digital media to highlight issues such as pollution, urban pressure, and ecological degradation. By amplifying these concerns, the initiative seeks to encourage public awareness as well as policy attention toward environmental preservation.

In addition, the Influencer Network has documented issues affecting Kashmir’s apple industry, bringing attention to challenges faced by farmers, including market access, climate-related impacts, and infrastructural gaps. Through these efforts, the programme connects grassroots realities with wider audiences, ensuring that local issues gain visibility at regional and national levels.

By combining digital outreach with youth engagement, the programme not only informs but also inspires action, encouraging young individuals to become active participants in addressing the challenges faced by their communities.

Impact:

The Influencer Network Program has achieved significant outreach and engagement through its digital content and campaigns.

The programme has generated over 600,000 views across various platforms, reflecting strong audience engagement and the effectiveness of digital storytelling in raising awareness.

A notable outcome of the initiative is the inspiration it provided to students from DPS, who, after engaging with the content, went on to develop a soil testing machine—demonstrating how awareness can translate into innovation and problem-solving.

The documentary on saffron has received acknowledgment from prominent leaders and influencers, further amplifying its reach and impact, and bringing critical attention to the challenges faced by saffron farmers in the region.

Mission:

The mission of the Influencer Network Program is to harness the power of digital media and youth-led storytelling to highlight key issues in Jammu & Kashmir and drive meaningful public engagement. The programme seeks to create a platform where young voices can contribute to shaping narratives around governance, environment, and socio-economic development.

A central objective is to bridge the gap between grassroots realities and wider audiences by producing credible, impactful, and research-driven content. By doing so, the initiative aims to influence public opinion, encourage dialogue, and bring attention to issues that require policy intervention.

At the same time, the programme focuses on building the capacity of young content creators by providing them with exposure, guidance, and opportunities to engage in socially relevant storytelling.

Vision:

The vision of the Influencer Network Program is to build a strong and sustainable ecosystem of youth-driven digital advocacy in Jammu & Kashmir. The programme aims to expand its network of influencers, increase content reach, and cover a wider range of critical issues affecting the region.

In the long term, the initiative envisions becoming a leading platform for socially conscious digital storytelling, where youth play a central role in shaping public narratives and influencing policy discourse.

Ultimately, the programme seeks to create a culture where media and storytelling are used not only for awareness but also as tools for accountability, innovation, and positive social change in Jammu & Kashmir.
